Somewhere in the Middle

Written by

Somewhere in the middle of it all

It ain't no coincidence

That I'm sitting on this fence

I can't make my mind up where the pieces fall

I'm just somewhere in the middle of it all

Right from the start I been walking a line

That stretches down the middle of my heart and my mind

Should I lean to the left, or should I lean to the right?

And does it really matter, is it all just black and white?

Well the only thing that's clear to me

Is that I stand in doubt

Am I outside looking in or inside looking out?

Well I ain’t ever going to learn to dance

If I don't take a step or two and learn to take a chance

And it really doesn't matter if I stumble or if I fall

I'll just land somewhere in the middle of it all

Somewhere in the middle of it all

It ain't no coincidence

That I'm sitting on this fence

I can't make my mind up where the pieces fall

I'm just somewhere in the middle of it all

Ask me again in a few more years or so

About the choices that I made and where I aim to go

But I can't guarantee that I'll be any wiser then

But I might know a step or two that I didn't ‘way back when’

So don't be too surprised to find that nothing's changed at all

And I'm still somewhere here in the middle of it all

Somewhere in the middle of it all

It ain't no coincidence

That I'm sitting on this fence                     .

I can't make my mind up where the pieces fall

I'm just somewhere in the middle of it all
