Just Another Border

Written by

Errol Walsh

Just another border.. just like any other

From Africa to India they keep us from each other

Oh Kathleen ... my own colleen

Drove us down to Mexico to a place we’d never been

Country music on the radio, old songs we used to know

Like ‘Vaya Con Dios’ and ‘Tell Him He’ll Have To Go’

Through Coachella valley down highway one eleven

Migrant workers eating dust on that long highway to heaven

Then on down to Mexicali where painted Madonnas

Make faded promises about better tomorrows

In that bitter vale of tears the faithful toil and pray

And they keep right on believing there’ll come a better day

But it’s just another border, it's just like any other

From Africa to India to keep us from each other

Yes it's just another border.. just like any other

From Africa to India to keep us from each other

Oh Kathleen I’m glad these eyes have seen

The sorry truth behind the lie

That ‘far off fields are green’

Oh Kathleen ... my own colleen

Drove us down to Mexico to a place we’d never been

Kathleen drove us down to Mexico to a place we’d never been
