"Mucho Dinero" was a short lived but immensely enjoyable fun band which lived up to it's sardonically humorous name...
We never expected to make any money with it and we weren't disappointed!
It grew out of a song-writing partnership between myself, Dublin guitarist Ed Deane and bassist Tex Comer and was an opportunity to stretch out live and try out some of our material.
Ed Deane's great guitar playing really figured strongly on stage with Mucho Dinero and so the band name came from a Spanish flavoured phonetic pun on his surname and his featured role in the band... sometimes you need a good sense of humour to survive playing music for a living!!
Tex Comer previously played with "Ace" who had a big hit with "How Long" written by Ace pianist Paul Carrack;
Bob Clouter was 'Southend rock royalty' having played with most all of the great rock'n'roll bands that flourished in that area (Both Tex and Bob were regular sidemen with legendary Tex-Mex accordionist Flaco Jiménez on his numerous visits to the UK)
Ed Deane is pretty much a guitar legend in his home town of Dublin (Ireland) where he began touring at age 16 with a number of legendary American elder statesmen of the Blues.
